Dr. Patel is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. He was born and raised in India before moving to Thomasville, GA at the age of 13. He attended Valdosta State University where he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry, graduating with honors and Summa Cum Laude. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, graduating in the top 5% of his class. He completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Internship at John Peter Smith (JPS) Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. He completed a rigorous and comprehensive training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery from Augusta University.
Dr. Patel is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Dental Honor Society and has received several awards, including The American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon Achievement Award, The American Association of Public Health Dentistry Award, The American Association of Oral Biologist Oral Biology Award, and The Quintessence Publishing Company Award for Research Achievement.
Dr. Patel had an interest in healthcare, and he loves the idea of improving people’s oral health. As an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, he enjoys the challenging and diverse nature of the specialty and being able to improve his patients’ quality of life through complex surgeries. Dr. Patel decided to work with Chatham Oral Surgery because of the practice’s commitment to providing compassionate care with high moral and ethical standards.
When he is not working, Dr. Patel enjoys cooking, spending time with his family and friends. He stays active with outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and kayaking. He is a Georgia Bulldog fan. Dr. Patel is committed to providing his patients with the highest quality of care and continuing to develop his skills as a clinician and surgeon.
